Nicholson Narrowly Misses Out on Euro Title

Paul Nicholson was denied victory in a dramatic final of the European Darts Trophy in Sindelfingen as he was edged out by Wes Newton on Monday evening after a brilliant run.

‘The Asset’ scooped the £10,000 runners-up prize but two missed darts at doubles proved the difference between winning the tournament, with Newton taking a 6-5 victory in Germany.

Nevertheless, Nicholson, who was also runner-up at the Dutch Darts Masters last year, can take great pride from his performances over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend, which included an impressive semi-final victory over the new world number two Michael van Gerwen. Read the rest of this entry »

Nicholson Sets Sights on Euro Glory

Paul Nicholson is targeting victory on the European Tour in a bid to rediscover his best form.

Paul Nicholson

Paul Nicholson is regarded as one of the biggest names in darts, not just his for his undeniable talent, but also for his character and charisma.

He is often touted as a serious contender for major titles and is widely expected to add to his Players Championship triumph from 2010.

World Cup of Darts: Australia Take Top Spot

Australia’s Simon Whitlock and Paul Nicholson saw off the New Zealand pairing of Phil Hazel and Craig Caldwell to seal their spot at the top of Group G at the World Cup of Darts in Hamburg.

The Australians, who were the runners-up in last year’s tournament, produced some clinical finishing en route to a comfortable 5-1 triumph on Saturday afternoon.

World Cup of Darts: Classy Display Sends Australia Through

AUSTRALIA 5 – 1 CROATIA

Australia moved into the last 16 of the World Cup of Darts after winning their opening match, a 5-1 demolition of Croatia, in Hamburg on Friday evening.
